As suggested by collaboris, this is an idea for a gun maintenance system. (Note: This will not apply on the official server)

Guns will need to be oiled, otherwise they will jam more often. In the case of bolt action rifles, they will bolt slower. This will add a new aspect to survival where if you don't take care of your guns, they are harder to use.
